The Art of Cinema.

"Shows over Eddie" 48"x48" Oil on Canvas.  I am fortunate enough to have this painting be a part of the Art of Cinema show which was curated by Joel Addams, at Alpine Art Gallery in Salt Lake City Utah.  The show coordinated with Sundance Film Festival, so it was fun to chat with people about how cinema inspires so many. This painting was such a fun journey to create; it started with a great movie (Citizen Gangster 2011), which made me fall in love with the story of Edwin Alonzo Boyd, the time period, and classic theme of cops and robbers and ways it is portrayed. The time and space was crucial to the process as well, I found myself in the studio with the great Zachary Proctor (link to his page on the side), and when you paint next to a man of his caliber things are bound to happen.
